Intermodal door-to-door solutions
Our experienced staff monitors your cargo from loading to unloading, organising the complete road and rail planning process, this allows you to follow your cargo through the entire transport chain.

Duisburg rail terminal
Samskip Van Dieren Multimodal operates its own rail terminal in Duisburg. All our rail shuttles are handled via this terminal. The 140,000 sqm facility is equipped with eight tracks, each 740 metres in length, while two gantry cranes will be installed in 2014.
With modern ICT solutions and high-tech gate functionality, this new terminal meets the highest modern standards.

European multimodal connections
The daily rail shuttles create intermodal connections between Scandinavia and the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Turkey using rail, ro-ro, road and shortsea services. In addition, onward transport to surrounding markets that include Poland, Finland, Russia and the Baltic States are offered via the Duisburg hub.
Rail services to/from North Sweden and Norway are also available, using rail terminals in Göteborg and Katrineholm as hubs. These facilities also offer cross docking to enhance efficient use of loading space, while minimising trailer loads and multi-stops.
The service is fully integrated in Samskip's multimodal network, connecting to destinations across Europe by rail, shortsea, road and inland waterways.
Frequent services, the coverage of the multimodal network and the wide range of equipment such as 13.6m (Mega) trailers and 45ft pallet-wide high-cube containers with 33-pallet capacity, create a very cost-effective alternative to road transport for door-door customers. The results are also very attractive for terminal-terminal customers with shipper-owned equipment, such as bulk and tank containers.
